That is correct in that LC-13 was the only Atlas-Agena pad in operation after 1967 and it was equipped for the SLV-3A, which would have been discontinued from production by 1978 and probably more powerful than what was needed for Seasat.Ģ.

SEASAT 1 has fragmented several time over the years and looks to be in a slow tumble. Zero proof has been found to support such claims at this time. Some believe because it was discovered that it could detect submarine wakes the data from the satellite was classified and the power supply failure was a cover story. SEASAT 1 operated for 106 days before it broke down because of a power supply failure or so the story goes. SEASAT 1 was launch out of Vandenberg Air force base on a Atlas E/F Agena D on Jand next year will mark forty years on orbit.
